Feature
Every change is undoable.
Draw a wall you hate, Ctrl+Z it. Undo is scoped to the move you just made — not your whole afternoon. Autosave keeps a working copy in your browser, Ctrl+S writes a *.webhome.json you own, and signed in, the design itself lives on the server.
The easy explanation
Undo the window. Keep the walls.
Editing is a list of moves, and Ctrl+Z walks backwards through it one step at a time. Moving a window doesn't rewind the roof; removing a wing doesn't unpaint the fence. Ctrl+Y walks forward again. Regret, in Builder, is a navigation feature.
Scoped undo & redo
Ctrl+Z steps back one move, Ctrl+Y steps forward. One wall, one opening, one furnishing at a time.
Autosave to localStorage
Your working copy saves itself in the browser as you go. Close the tab, come back tomorrow — the design is still there.
Ctrl+S → *.webhome.json
Saving writes a real file you can keep, mail or archive. Open reads it straight back into the editor.
Stored server-side
Signed in, designs live on the server as opaque JSON — one truth per design, from every browser you open.
How a change travels.
- Every edit is an op — a change to a whole document section, not a pile of coordinates
- Undo replays that history in reverse, scoped to what you actually touched
- Autosave keeps the working copy in localStorage between visits
- Ctrl+S saves on demand; Open exchanges *.webhome.json files
- Signed in, the same document is stored server-side — and co-editing ops carry whole document sections too
"The wall you regret is one Ctrl+Z away."
— every change is undoableIn praise of Ctrl+Z
Draw boldly. The escape hatch is built in.
Undo is scoped, autosave is continuous, and Ctrl+S writes a *.webhome.json you own. A design is never one bad wall away from ruin.
Open the designerDraw boldly.
Undo is one key away.
Scoped undo/redo, autosave to localStorage, Ctrl+S to *.webhome.json, designs stored server-side.
