Plant the Garden —3D Planting with Wind

The garden category is the biggest shelf in the library: 135 CC0 models of trees, shrubs and planting. Place them, and the site comes alive — one wind front crosses the whole plot in the direction and strength you set, so trees lean together and the lawn blades sway with them. The stress scene in the performance gate carries 4,386 plants and still passes: planting is cheap to draw here.

How it works — in the app

01
Browse the garden shelf

Open the Outside door — 135 garden models in the CC0 library.

02
Plant

Click to place trees, hedges and beds; the legality check keeps them clear of walls and roads.

03
Set the wind

One wind front for the whole site — direction and strength are yours.

04
Play the day

Press Space — the garden moves, and the shadows move with it.

What you get

Plant the garden is one of fifteen feature pages covering what ships in Builder today — every claim here maps to a shipped, verified feature. The list below is the concrete surface:

  • 135 garden models in the CC0 library — the largest category in the catalogue
  • One wind front crosses the whole site, with direction and strength you set
  • Lawn blades sway with the same wind — grass is not a static carpet
  • Planting shares the 4,096² shadow map with the house, so tree shade is real
  • The performance gate passes a 4,386-plant stress scene at 60 FPS
  • The garden is its own co-editing area — hand it to the landscape designer

FAQ

How many plants can the scene take?

The performance gate is checked with a 4,386-plant stress scene, and it still passes: 60 FPS, under 300 draw calls, under 250 MB of heap. A normal garden design is nowhere near that ceiling.

Why does wind matter in a design tool?

Because a garden is not a still image. One wind front crossing the site — with a direction and a strength you choose — shows how the planting sits together, and it makes walkthroughs and sun studies read as a place, not a diorama.

Can a collaborator change only the garden?

Yes. When you share as an editor you can attach areas — the outside, the inside, the garden, colours & finishes anywhere, light & weather. Grant the garden and your landscape designer can plant freely while the house stays untouched.

Open the designer and plant the first tree — the wind is already blowing.

No install, no plugin — a house builds itself the moment the page opens.
